Manager research: Our team is willing to go the extra mile in our search for the best investment managers.  Our analysts source new manager ideas across multiple asset classes through their extensive networking and undertake deep-dive investment analysis, taking nothing at face value.  Investment managers tell us time and again that our manager research and monitoring approach is second to none.

Manager monitoring: An extension of manager research but with real-time information that allows us to forensically analyse our client portfolio’s investment footprints.  Our team is constantly assessing whether an incumbent manager remains fit for purpose and is well aware that this rarely correlates with short-term investment results.  Our analysts are tasked with assessing the manager’s prospects, not simply relying on past performance statistics.

Behavioural analysis: Working closely with our investment analysts, our professionally qualified behavioural colleagues evaluate investment managers from a very different but no less important perspective.  Active investment management is in effect about taking decisions in an environment of uncertainty and sub-optimal information content.  An investment manager’s behaviour is as relevant to the end result as its investment expertise, and our team is exceptionally well placed to understand what makes a manager ‘tick’.

Client consulting: Our consultants ensure that our investment manager recommendations are framed within appropriate long-term investment strategies for our clients that are well placed to meet their investment objectives from both a risk and return perspective.  They recognise that clients’ differing governance structures require bespoke solutions which they work closely with their clients to achieve.
